Empowering the Next Generation Through Art

On August 15, 2024, the Peel Art Gallery Museum and Archives (PAMA) became a vibrant hub for young artists as Together With Art (TWA) hosted Artists Unite 2024. This networking event aimed to empower up-and-coming creatives by providing a platform to connect, communicate, and showcase their work. With over 250 attendees, including sponsors, performers, vendors, and contributors from across the Region of Peel, TWA’s second in-person event was a resounding success.

TWA, founded in 2020, is a youth-led organization that unites communities through the arts. Its mission is to create opportunities for young artists to thrive professionally while fostering community engagement through artistic events. Since its inception, TWA has attracted over 5,000 visitors to its vendor events, featured over 100 artists on its platform, and raised over $1,500 for community causes.

The Artists Unite 2024 event showcased captivating performances by the Central Peel Quintet, Prachi Chaturvedi, Amy Liou, and Lov-E. The event was guided by MCs Gunpreet and Sukeerat, who energized the audience throughout the evening with seamless transitions between performances and speeches. The program included inspiring spoken word poetry, musical sets, and motivational talks that left a lasting impression on all attendees.

Workshops led by emerging creatives Kunwarnoor Saggu, Ashnoor Arora, and Sukhman Bahga provided participants—especially high school and university students—with hands-on opportunities to explore various art forms such as collage-making and calligraphy. These sessions not only nurtured artistic growth but also helped build a sense of community among attendees.

One of the event’s highlights was the partnership with City South Dental, which offered a unique opportunity for artists to gain wider exposure. The top four most-voted art pieces from the event will be displayed at City South Dental's Brampton location for the remainder of 2024, extending the impact of Artists Unite beyond the event itself.

Attendee feedback reflected the positive and inclusive atmosphere of the event. One participant praised the TWA team for being "welcoming, friendly, and always ready to help." At the same time, artist Reet Brar shared that the event was a valuable opportunity to "meet talented artists, grow [her] network, and gain recognition." Another exhibitor expressed excitement about staying involved in future TWA events, highlighting the event's success in fostering a supportive environment for emerging talent.

Volunteers and team members also walked away from the event with a renewed sense of purpose. One volunteer described the experience as "incredible," noting that the turnout and engagement far exceeded expectations.

Artists Unite 2024 was much more than an art showcase—it was a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and community. As TWA continues to carry out its mission of uniting people—of all ages and walks of life— through the arts, this event marked a significant milestone in providing a platform for young artists to thrive.

TWA extends its heartfelt gratitude to its sponsors—City South Dental, Harman Heir Real Estate Services, Youth2Action, Heritage India, Mr. Singh’s Pizza, Kloman Print, and AER Rentals—for their invaluable support in making the event possible. Special thanks are also extended to the performers, volunteers, and distinguished guest Iqra Khalid, as well as all the artists and attendees who contributed to the success of Artists Unite 2024.
